Attendance

Students are expected to be in attendance 180 days each year. Parent/Guardian must notify the school attendance office regarding absences.

Three consecutive or five or more unlawful absences could result in a Pre-Court Intervention Conference (PCIC), and your child identified as TRUANT per SC State Board of Education Regulation.

If a student must miss school for a lawful reason, a written excuse must be submitted by the parent/guardian within three (3) days of returning to school. If a written excuse is not received, the absence will be considered unlawful. The student’s excuse should include the following:

  • Date excuse written and the dates of the absence(s)
  • Reason for the absence(s)
